Hello! Welcome to the Second Round of [community profile] homemade2homemade’s Geeky Gift Exchange! Please cut and paste the sign up form at the bottom into the comments of this post. We will not start matching participants until January 31st or until we get the max amount of participants for this round (30). Please do consider promoting the fest on your journals with this handy-dandy banner.

Key dates in 2019
Matching and assignments: on or before February 7th
Check in: by March 21st
Post by: May 7th (about 12 weeks of crafting time)

First, a little explanation on what we need in the sign ups and why. First and foremost, the sign ups are mostly for us to find the best matches we can with what people want to receive and want to offer. Please be as specific as you can in your request. Gifters, if you need more info, please come to us (homemade2homemademod@gmail.com) and we’ll be your go between.

Name: We don’t need your real name right now. We'll ask for that when we get your address for your crafter.
Email: PLEASE make sure it’s one that you check regularly. There are a few times throughout the fest that we will need to get a hold of you via email.
Things you geek about: We need to know what fandoms, hobbies and interests make you happy. Please be specific as you can, from favorite color, favorite character, favorite song, etc etc...You don’t want a Gryffindor scarf if you’re in Slytherin now do you? Or let's say you put that one of your interests is horses, but you are terrified of unicorns, you wouldn’t want any of those showing up on an embroidered thing, would you? Also, if you don’t want fandom related things, or only want fandom related things, let us know that too. Same goes for interests and hobbies.
Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: Allergies--we need to know all the things you can’t have from food allergies, to scents and fibers. Postal restrictions--are there things your country won’t let be sent through the mail? Sometimes this differs if the packages are sent internationally or within the same country. Simple Do Not Wants--This is the place to put things you just don’t like, crafts you really don’t want to receive. Not into baked goods? Don’t want to receive the same type of craft that you make? This is the place to tell us.
What kind of crafter are you? What are you willing to gift? Are you a potter or a woodworker? A knitter or a candymaker? Do you dabble in a bunch of things? Are the things connected by medium? If so, are there things you DON’T do? Do you not want to do fandom specific things? Only want to do fandom specific things?
What country do you live in? and Are you willing to ship internationally? These two go together. If you live outside the USA, and can't ship internationally for whatever reason, we might still be able to match you. There were at least two participants from every country represented last year. Get in touch with the mods to talk more. This year, we need everyone to track their parcels, thanks!

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms): Craftwise, I've been involved in jewelry crafts since my early teens, so that's about 40 years (yikes!). I'm lucky enough that there's a local bead store near me that actually encourages people to just hang out and make stuff, so I get to geek about beadwork every Saturday. I love creating for friends but I hate actually selling anything, except on commission. Fandomwise, I'm currently enjoying Kingsman (first movie, not second), White Collar (old fandom delight), The Flash (first and second season only). I have a fannish interest in Inspector Morse, Lewis (written just a few stories for Lewis, but have read many) and I have the first season of Endeavor to watch still.

That being said, I don't have any particular interest in receiving a fannish gift, but if my recipient wants something fannish, I'll be happy to try and make it.

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: No food, please.
What country do you live in? U.S.
Are you willing to ship internationally? The rates for international shipping have skyrocketed, but if the recipient does not want a speedy delivery, I can manage first class mail.

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? I currently do many different kinds of beading – bead weaving, bead embroidery, pearl stringing and knotting, and kumihimo (with and without beads). My preferred materials are glass beads, natural stone, pearls of all shapes and sizes. I work in all colors except black, and generally take a very holistic approach to creation (which means I kind of suck at following patterns and prefer to invent my own designs once I learn a technique). I would be happy to gift a custom-made necklace in a style my recipient would like. I tend to enjoy working on larger, showier pieces, but I can scale back if I have to.

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? Yes.
What about if shipping is paid for? I'll ship in the US, priority mail, and will not require that it be paid for.
If you participated in last round, who did you create for/who created for you?: Did not participate in the last round.

I also like horses and horse racing, travel, and reading (particularly mysteries and historical fiction). Holiday and seasonal themed stuff (Christmas, New Year's, Halloween, spring, summer, etc.) also an option! Favorite colors are seafoam green, aqua and lemon yellow.
Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: Cat and dust allergies in case that's pertinent.

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms):

Otters and teacups, for obvious reasons. History of science. XKCD. Musicals. Fraud schemes and con artists. Cats. BPAL perfume.

I'm so very polyfannish -- if you go through my tag at [community profile] fan_flashworks, you can get an idea of what all I'm into.

Fandoms I love that may not be well-reflected there: DC Animated Universe (especially Robin, Nightwing, Black Canary, and Zatanna), Impulse (Youtube Red tv show), Steven Universe, The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, The Good Place.

Favorite colors are ocean blues, chocolate browns, burgundy, black.

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: My household has lots of food allergies, so food is complicated. I'm allergic to angora fiber, and I can't wear standard pierced earrings. Please no black tea or live plants.

What country do you live in? USA
Are you willing to ship internationally? Yes

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? I create fiber batts and rolags for spinners, spin handmade yarn, and knit. I've knit everything from hats and shawls to stuffed animals for gift exchanges before. Socks are a real possibility, as are various hand-felted decorations.

Please note that some quantity of cat hair will likely accompany any gift I send, no matter how hard I try!

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? Maybe, but it would depend on time.

What about if shipping is paid for? That'd be nice, but it's mostly whether I'd have time to do a second gift.

If you participated in last round, who did you create for/who created for you?: I did not participate last round.

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms): Woo, this will get long! I'm happy for fannish and non-fannish, I just appreciate the time, work and investment put into a handmade article.

My interests: Netflix, film, art, craft, France, medieval history, Byzantine history, costuming, historical re-enacting, writing, reading, rubber stamping, yarn, weaving, gardening, travel, photography, cooking, sleeping, cats, friends, learning, music, politics, social justice, languages.

My hobbies: Sleeping (bc in my life as a full time caregiver, sleep does feel like a hobby), gardening, shopping, making junk journals (primary craft, I love these things), reading, films/tv, photography, weaving, collecting beautiful variegated coloured yarn, collecting gorgeous vintage photos/postcards, making medieval/Byzantine/renaissance clothes, historical re-enacting, thrift/secondhand stores/markets, penpaling.

My fandoms: Lucifer, Diablero, Travelers, Glitch (Aust), Cleverman (Aust), Babylon 5, Twin Peaks, Scandi-noir, Occupied. A lot of things I watch/read are from non-English speaking countries. I'm also always sorted into Slytherin. Which is good, as I like green, black and silver.

My favourite colours: Green, black, silver, blue, red--jewel tones or very soft vintage tones (like duck egg blue or soft grey).

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: Probably best to avoid food, as Australia's quarantine is always changing.

What country do you live in? Australia.

Are you willing to ship internationally? Yes.

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? Paper. I make junk journals. Here's an example of one I made. I did this as a gift for a relative, and she loves pink, which is why it's so... well, pink. Whoever gets me will get a journal customised to their loves and interests, with journal cards, bookmarks, hidey places to store secret notes and so on, as well as being a unique journal to write in.

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? Yes.

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms): I'm in lots of fandoms. I like Discworld, Stargate, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Wolf 359, books like Sabriel, The Edge Chronicles, Iain M. Banks, Moomins. (This is a non-complete list and probably can be extrapolated from.)
I love autumn themes and colours. I love space and the outdoors and trees and leaves. Also love generic "book" themed stuff.

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: I knit and crochet excessively, so would prefer not to receive these crafts. I find bracelets and large pendants too uncomfortable to wear (smaller necklaces are great!).

What country do you live in? UK
Are you willing to ship internationally? Yes

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? I primarily knit. In particular I enjoy elaborate lace patterns. (Very incomplete Rav page.) I also do a load of other random craft stuff as the mood takes me!

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs:
No meat, due to restrictions, and no nuts, due to allergies, please. Also, at the risk of fandom wank -- in the MCU I'm Team Cap, and this has actually affected my personal/offline life, so I thought I'd mention, as it should give a good idea of my likes and DNWs.

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? Food! I have been learning to make candy and preserves, as well as sending rare and weird candy. Also, I draw not well but enthusiastically and will send postcards, stickers, and even make a custom fridge magnet or two.

Fandoms: Mary Poppins, The West Wing, X-Files, Miranda, Hamilton, White Collar (I'm only mentioning fandoms that don't have a lot of merch because I think its more fun to create/recieve something that would be truly one of a kind from obscure fandoms.) That being said, I'm also a sucker for HP (Go Gryffindor), Doctor Who (no Dalek stuff)11 is My Doxtor, Star Wars ♥ HAN ♥ and MCU (both the films and Netflix shows). Also, don't really need it to be fandomy if that's not your thing.
Favorite colors/flavors/motifs: love all blues, purples and most greens and love any combinations of those. Love anything with nuts, peanut butter, caramel, creamy anything, chocolate. Trying to get more adventures with fruit in things. I love the outdoors as a motif, trees, sky, oceans.
Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: None that I can think of. I'm not a huge fan of floral scents, so I guess none of those.

Fandoms: Star Trek, MCU & netflix (though I love comics Hawkeye more), legends of tomorrow, criminal minds, leverage, xena, due south, jonathon creek, highlander, the mummy films.....old british kids shows (like clangers, poddington peas)

Dinosaurs, animals and I love the colour purple and nature inspired things. I'm very crafty, but I'm not an uber fast knitter/crocheter yet!

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms):

Avengers: Tony Stark, Clint Barton are my two top favs. Followed by Bucky, Nat, and..er everyone else. But Ironman and Hawkeye are my main ones.

NASA: Everything NASA! Mars missions! Pictures of rocks that look unremarkable until you realise they're from someplace else! Vintage astronaut suits! Anything NASA is cool.

Football, hockey, softball! My teams are Dallas Cowboys, San Jose Sharks, and Oklahoma Sooners.

I also like having seasonal decorations for the apartment for the equinoxes, like small hanging quilts or table runner/place mats. (I need more summer-themed stuff!)

Hallowe'en: We never take our Hallowe'en stuff down, basically. Anything Hallowe'en themed is welcome, leaning more towards spooky, gothic, or steampunk style, and not gore or too silly. Skulls! Bats! Haunted-looking houses!

My favorite colors tend to be earth tones, greys and dark shades of color, and olive. Exceptions for Ironman and Hawkeye colored items!

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs:

So many fragrance allergies. Anything from plants - grass, flowers, pollen, trees, etc, I will likely be allergic. I have never been able to tolerate handspun wool, because of the oils from the animals. I'm not allergic to machine-milled (and cleaned) wool, but I am very allergic to cashmere, alpaca, or angora. Bits of cat or dog hair in items is perfectly okay! If I can't smell it, I'm not allergic.

Food: no dairy, no sugar alcohols. Otherwise I'm up for almost anything edible!

I don't wear jewelry except for watches. Despite being a knitter and quilter/sewist, I always need more of everything. Fingerless gloves and quilted wall hangings and drawstring backpacks are the things we use a lot and seem to never have enough of. And hats. Why do we keep losing all our hats.

What country do you live in? United States
Are you willing to ship internationally? Yes, except for food (I don't want it to arrive stale.)
What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift?

I sew - simple tote bags, zippered pouches, small quilts (I make larger quilts but would never get one done in time!) I also bake - I can make cookies or brownies or similar and can work with some allergies (like dairy-free or using non-wheat flours.)

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? No

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms): I geek about history (I have a PhD in medieval history), books, knitting, French and Latin, and apparently, these days, trees. I'm not really in any big media fandoms at the moment, but Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache mystery series, which I read this fall, has eaten my brain (Jean-Guy Beauvoir MY PERFECT PURE SON!!), and I'm also a fan of various other mystery series, most prominently among them Jean-François Parot's Nicolas Le Floch mysteries.

At various points I've been in the Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Lord of the Rings, and BBC Sherlock fandoms, and I'm open to receiving crafts based on any of them, plus I'm a fan of the Vancouver Canucks hockey team. That said, I'm also fine receiving non-fandom crafts. I've also just moved into an apartment of my own after a long year and a half of having to move back in with my parents during a career-and-country transition, so if a little more guidance about what I'd like helps, I'm definitely up for receiving decor-type items of pretty much any description for my new apartment! Wall art? Knick knacks? Flower pots? Whatever else? All very yay!

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: No allergies, but mail coming into Canada can be a bit slow so food isn't a great idea unless it's reliably non-perishable. I'm also not into jewelry or makeup or bath stuff (with the specific exception of fancy soap, which I love), and as much as I love fancy journals, at this point I need to use some up before I collect any more.

What country do you live in? Canada

Are you willing to ship internationally? For sure!

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? I'm a knitter, and that's almost certainly what I'll be gifting, although some sort of paper craft or needlepoint/embroidery isn't totally out of the question.

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? Yes

What about if shipping is paid for? Depending on my finances this could be helpful, although I hope I'd be in a position to pay for it myself.

If you participated in last round, who did you create for/who created for you?: I created for [personal profile] shaddyr and received crafts from [personal profile] shaddyr, [personal profile] tjs_whatnot, and [profile] redsnake5!

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms):

- Fandoms: Right now, I am really into Critical Role, Campaign: Skyjacks, and Friends at the Time (particularly the Counter/weight season). Perennial fandoms are DC comics (Flash family and the New Gods in particular) and Universal monster movies (Dracula and Frankenstein/Bride are my major interests there).

- Hobbies: I knit a lot and spindle spin a lot. I am a very amateur birder. I play a lot of D&D.

- Interests: I love spooky things in general, birds (especially corvids), Norse myth, fairy tales, robots, monsters, stars and space stuff, unicorns, autumn, and sparkles. My favorite colors are sapphire blue, olive green, and silver.

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: I have no allergies. Craft items that are purely aesthetic are super cool but not really my thing - I would prefer to receive something usable/wearable/functional.

What country do you live in? US

Are you willing to ship internationally? Yes

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? I knit, spin, and crochet - knitting is my primary craft. Socks and gloves/mittens are my favorite things to knit.

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? Maybe, but I'm kinda slow, so it would depend on the time needed.

What about if shipping is paid for? Doesn't matter

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms):
Jewel tones, birds, space, science, history. Fallout series (very very into this for years!) and post-apocalypse. The Good Life/Good Neighbors britcom. A little bit Borderlands (Rhys/Vaughn, Axton). Postcards, postage, stationery, snail mail, stamps. Seagulls of any kind. Retro music and midcentury/dieselpunk design. MST3K fan since Season 1!

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: No cat hair please. No fragrances. No D&D/fantasy unless it's a seagull shapeshifter! :P
Jewelry: I don't have any piercings, no earrings please. Topaz, amber and opal colors preferred.
Knitting: I live in a warm climate and most of the year have no need for hats, scarves or gloves, but socks are always nice :)

What country do you live in? USA.

Are you willing to ship internationally? Yes.

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift?
Cross stitch, embroidery and quilting/sewing. (No clothing.) Handmade postcards - may be fabric, collage, who knows? Maybe some mixed fiber arts.

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? Yes.

What about if shipping is paid for? Not necessary but very nice!

If you participated in last round, who did you create for/who created for you?: This is my first round.

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms): books/reading, podcasts (informative, history, humor, internet culture), the Simpsons, Schitt's Creek, Gilmore Girls, the Mountain Goats, Neko Case, the Decemberists, woodturning, community veggie gardening, painting objects, coffee

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs:
I have a nickel allergy, so if it's metal that touches my skin it has to be without that. If it's an object that is purely art, it really needs to be in one of my very specific fandoms. I do prefer consumables like food, drink, bath products, stickers but it's not absolutely necessary.

What country do you live in? USA

Are you willing to ship internationally?
Can't afford to really

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift?
I go to a Maker Space a lot and am into woodworking, wood cutting with a laser CNC machine. Also baking, 1" button making.

sure

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms): Fandoms: MCU (anyone but Clint), Hannibal, Preacher, Buffy, The Last Unicorn, Dragon Age, Fallout (New Vegas is my fave), The Elder Scrolls, and anything on my profile.

I love fairy tales, yoga, books and reading, nature, shopping for clothes and decor, and toys from the '90s. [tumblr.com profile] ifall, [pinterest.com profile] dreamkist, or [archiveofourown.org profile] dreamkist can give a good idea of what I like.

Green is my favorite color. Darker shades of all colors are great and you can't go wrong with black, white, brown, gold, or silver.

I'm fine with receiving something fannish or non-fannish.

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: Please no food, drinks, or fragrances. Also, I have a cat and his fur is the worst.

What country do you live in? US.

Are you willing to ship internationally? No.

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? I do embroidery, some loom knitting, and collage. I'd prefer to make something fannish but it's ok if not.

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms):
* Star Trek (especially DS9 and Disco; I love Trills and Bajorans; the VOY/DS9 uniforms are my favourites; Science (blue!) is my department; faves include Dax and Kira and Sisko and Janeway and Kat Cornwell and Philippa Georgiou and Michael Burnham)
* Doctor Who (my Doctors are Thirteen, Nine, Eight, and Three)
* Babylon 5 (especially Delenn and Minbari things)
* Foreigner series by CJ Cherryh (atevi!)
* The Expanse (TV show, Avasarala and Bobbie and the Roci crew, though I'm not real big on Holden himself)
* Captain Marvel, Supergirl
* Mass Effect (I'd love something N7-themed that wasn't black/red!)
* Lord of the Rings (hobbits and elves)
* science fiction and space stuff generally; time travel, rocketships, book-themed things, etc.
* LGBT pride, especially bi/lesbian stuff (just don't make it wall-to-wall pink)

For fannish things I love both things that reference the fandom from a real-world perspective (like a TARDIS pattern on something) and things that could exist in-world (like a Beratnas Gas t-shirt or something with elvish script).

I love things to wear (shirts, soft cuddly sweaters, socks, belts, but no hats), things for my house (pillowcases, picture frames, flower vases, etc), things to put things in (boxes, bags, purses, cups for pens/pencils, even more boxes), things to look at (drawings/paintings/sculptures), things to eat out of (bowls, small plates, though I'm told we have too many coffee mugs already).

I love woodwork, leather goods, pottery, knitted/crocheted work, glass & metal jewelry, and handmade clothing. I also do paper and fibre crafts myself so I love things like interesting/handmade paper and fabulous pretty yarns.

Favourite colours: Blue! TARDIS blue, cool purplish-blues, warm turquoise-blues, bright blues and soft weathered blues. Also purples and greens (especially bluish-purples and bluish-greens). I tend to go for more mid-range tones than either pastels or neon. Rainbow anything is generally great, either in the sense of multiple colours in one item or in the sense of gay pride. (I'm also not against the bi flag colours! :D)

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs:
* No food or perishables (for shipping reasons--it likely won't keep)
* Nothing religion-themed
* No nickel in earring posts
* No wool (in clothing--I can work with it but not wear it)
* I love hats on other people but can never wear them myself :-(
* Colour DNWs: Especially for clothing, I don't do well with things in the orange/red/brown colour range, olive green, dark navy, or black/white/grey (e.g. black t-shirts with a small design on them). Multicolour designs are great, and I really love things in blue/green/purple and jewel tones. I'm open to a lot more variety in colour in things I'm not actually wearing.

What country do you live in? Canada

Are you willing to ship internationally? Yes

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift?
Happy to do either fandom or nonfandom things.

Crochet: I make a lot of hats, and can do other similar soft & cuddly things like scarves or small baby blankets.

Sock dolls: I make small (around 10" tall?) cuddly dolls out of crew socks + mostly upcycled materials. These have been fandom-related (the Eighth Doctor, a Starfleet officer), or can be non-fandom (modelled on a friend, a baby doll, a weird little alien). See pics for examples.

alien doll, redhead     African-American baby doll, Caucasian baby doll     Starfleet doll with second outfit     Eighth Doctor doll     doll w/ heart on chest

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? No

What about if shipping is paid for? Time is a concern more than shipping. I could whip up a cute crochet hat pretty quickly if I had the right yarn, though!

If you participated in last round, who did you create for/who created for you?: This is my first year participating! <3

Please let me know if I've missed anything! Can't tell if this is too long or not enough info, or if I should add more non-fannish interests...

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms):

Fannish: RPF, including the Cook/Archie season of American Idol and Crooked Media RPF. Steve/Tony in either MCU or the comics. Stargate Atlantis. Sports Night. Books, especially the Murderbot Diaries and KJ Charles's entire output. Just about anything I've written fic for: https://archiveofourown.org/users/celli

Non-fannish: embroidery, writing in general, reading in general. Learning to cook. My cat, cats in general. Spending time with my family (I have eight nieces & nephews). Women's hockey - I'm a fan of the Connecticut Whale of the NWHL. My favorite colors are purple and green.

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: I can't have gluten and I don't like coconut; I'm allergic to wool and acrylic.
What country do you live in? The US.
Are you willing to ship internationally? Yep!
What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? Embroidery/cross-stitch; I do a combination of stamped and counted, some from kits and some from patterns. There's lots of great fannish patterns out there but I can do non-fannish too.
Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? No, I'm a slow crafter and wouldn't have time to make a second one.
What about if shipping is paid for?
