Mary Poppins!

homemade2homemadeI got to make a Mary Poppins craft for tjs_whatnot which was fantastic fun. I really enjoy the smaller fandoms, that are so open to interpretation and lack their own merchandising. At some point she mentioned needing a lunch bag, and liking useful kitchen stuff. So I went with a lunch tote, tea towels, and a wooden spoon.
This was take two the with the lunch bag. I tried to go more "mature" and with neutral colors but ended up hating it so much I had to start over. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I like the nod to Mary's carpet bag. I carve spoons just in general so it wasn't special for the trade, but it's a special spoon! And my favorite part of all was drawing and carving out the stamps to use on the tea towels.
The hardest parts were going to the post office, and posting an image on dreamwidth... also all the agony I put myself through trying to psychically connect with tj and pick her colors. Although she did give me her pinterest, which was really helpful and super sweet!
