homemade2homemadeNow that sign ups are over and we have our party, we are busy sorting and re-sorting and then re-sorting again. We will have emails to you by the end of the week, promise. If you don’t get an email from us (either tjwritter or redsnake05) by Friday, please first, check your spam folder, then contact us.
Here’s a timeline for what happens next:
April 20th (or earlier): We will send out your recipient’s information.
Read the email that lists who you are crafting for, where they live and what they cannot/do not want. If we accidentally assigned you someone whose can’t/don’t wants are the one thing you make, or live in a country you indicated in your sign up that you couldn’t post to, let us know. Other than those two things, you should have plenty to work with to create something magical.
By April 22nd: Please respond to our email so that we know you got it and it is acceptable. In this email, we’ll also need you to provide us your mailing address so that we can pass it on to your gifter when the time comes.
April 23rd: Once we’ve heard back from everyone and made any adjustments we need, we will officially open the fest and you will have two months to create something for your giftee. Please respond to the email by the 23rd so we know you’re still on board.
While you wait, and if you haven’t yet, subscribe/join the community as there will be a few posts as the fest goes on that you won’t want to miss. Also, while you wait, consider writing a letter/or a more detailed list of things you are interested in, for your crafter to be able to more accurately tailor their craft. Please remember that all these crafts are being offered:
Sewing
Knitting
Crochet
Paper crafts
Embroidery
Needlepoint
Baking/Jam making
Perler Beads/plastics
Cross-stitch
Wood-burning
Screen-printing
Quilting
Jewelry
Leatherworks
So, unless you specifically asked to NOT receive one/or more of these things, they are all options your creator can implement. Also, no point waxing poetic about your love of pottery when there are no potters in the fest, right? We will be making a post soon to either link your letter, or you can put it right there in the comments where your recip can find them.redsnake05 and I will have links to our letters if you need examples of what to include and whatnot.
May 23rd: Mandatory Check-in Mark your calendars. You MUST check-in by this date. If you interact with the community before this date, we will assume you are checked in and all set to complete your craft. If we haven’t heard from you in the last month, you MUST check in by the 23rd of May. Not doing so will indicate that you have lost interest and no longer wish to participate and we will assign a pinch hitter for you.
June 22: Take lots of pictures! Before you bubble wrap, tissue paper stuff and box up your craft(s), take pictures of them. After your recipient has received them, we want you to post on the community the pictures so we can all see your awesome, and your recip can thank you properly!
June 23: Final check in and disbursement of addresses! When we have heard from you that your project is done, we will email you the address of your gifter.
June 23-July 1: Mail your crafts! Please do it as soon as you can if your package is being sent internationally.
July 1-30: Reap Rewards! Share your awesome! Feel super accomplished!Contemplate doing it all over again!
