Letter Collection/Ask a Question Post
Assignments have gone out! If you have not received yours, PLEASE let us know and we'll figure out what went wrong. Also, if you accidentally received two emails--ooops, sorry about that. We were just SOOO excited!
Anyway, if you haven't yet, please do respond to the email so we know you're still in.
Now on to the fun!
So, this post serves two purposes: to collect letters that you might want to write to give your crafter a little (or lot) more information about you and what you like. And also, to ask questions that you think we'd all need answers to as we start to create.
I'll comment below with my letter, so anyone not familiar with the letter concept can get ideas, and also start some questions that I encourage all of you to answer. Feel free to ask your own questions in a new thread. I'd also encourage you to come back to this post from time to time (even track comments maybe) as questions might continue to pop up, and one of them might be from your crafter who really wants to hear what you have to say.

LETTER!
Upcycling Question
I know some people get twitchy about that, and I get it, but I'm of the opinion that what's important is the ~story~ not the pages they're written on. It's not like I'm destroying the last copy of anything, or a first edition or anything.
But, I'd like to know before I traumatize anyone with my ideas, ya know?

Maybe next one your work will have chilled a bit. ♥
Fellow crafter...
I apologize in advance, but I am a newbie when it comes to exchanges. To be honest, I signed up more to have a reason to craft than to receive something. But since I love crafting so much, it seemed fair to give a fellow crafter a chance too.
My colors are purple and green (seriously, we painted our house purple and green both on the outside and inside). I love science (although quantum physics breaks my brain) and the history of things (I have read the history of paper, forks, bookshelves, etc.).
I grew up in the 70’s where strong female characters were thin on the ground. Princess Leia was formative for me and Carrie Fisher even more so. I also loved classic Wonder Woman comics where the storyline spent a lot of time on her back story and life as an Amazon. Of course, I adored Lynda Carter as well.
But my favorite verse is the Whedonverse. I am a die hard Browncoat and Zoe is my favorite. I love the comics as well and her ongoing storyline. My favorite characters in Buffy are Willow, Tara, Oz and chipped Spike. And Dr. Horrible is amazing!
My latest passion is Black Panther. The women of Black Panther filled me with joy. Especially Okoye, who so viscerally embodies the conflict between living one’s values and one’s own wants and desires. To paraphrase Spock, she understands that the needs of the many sometimes outweigh the needs of the few or the one.
FWIW, in the Potterverse I am a Ravenclaw (in case that isn’t already abundantly obvious).
As far as crafting for me, I am flexible. Pretty much any medium will work. And while I cannot bring myself to dog-ear a page or write in a book, crafts that use books or comics are ok with me. I see them as transformational art rather than destructive. And I am a huge fan of up cycling.
Hopefully that gives you all the fodder you need. But really the most important thing is that whoever crafts for me takes joy in the creative process. I find that no matter what is created, creations made with joy and love are always the best!
Thanks and keep flying!

First off, thank you so much for whatever you create! I know it's going to be wonderful.
I'm good with all kinds of crafts, including upcycling, so don't worry about what your method is going to be.
I love the colors blue and purple, and as for my fandoms, I'm heavily into the Batfamily, especially Nightwing, and into Yu-Gi-Oh!, especially Kaiba. I love pretty much anything DC, so you're a sure bet there (Superman and Catwoman are my two favorite outside the immediate Batfamily, which probably says something about me).
Thanks again, and if you have any questions, my tumblr is fleetsparrow.tumblr.com and I always have anonymous messages on.

SOOOO late to the party, but finally here! Here is my letter!
Colours - jewel tones are my fave - blues, greens, purples - you can't really go wrong.
Fandom - The last 10 years have been pretty heavily all things SGA and SG1; before that it was Buffy, The Pretender and classic Trek. The last year or so has been Harry Potter, no real idea why. I best I can tell, I am a Slytherpuff. I adore almost all things MCU.
Yarncraft: I crochet some; I know how to knit but do it badly. I love yarn crafts though; my dear friend made me a amigarumi loch ness monster a few years back and I ADORE it.
Jewlery - I probabaly have 30 bracelets because I keep making them. However, I am large, so tiny delicate things do not suit me. I prefer my bracelets loose and slidy (at least 8.5"), and necklaces at least 20". I generally do not wear earrings because I react to base metals, but I can get away with them for necklaces and bracelets since they aren't sitting in just one place all the time.
Papercrafts - notebooks, cards, all lovely. I have at least a half dozen notebooks. I have a weakness, I know this.
Random assortment of other things I like - cats. Aurora borealis. Mountains. Music. Patches with cool, snarky sayings on them. Mugs with the same. Interesting fabric. Dioramas of action figures.
Whoever is making a thing for me: whatever you are making, I just think it's really cool that you want to play along and make something unique for someone else. Thanks!
