Dolphins!
I kept forgetting to post my project, but hey, it's still July (um, if you're in my timezone, that is...) So here's what I made for Fangirlism!
She likes dolphins, and so I found a filet crochet doily pattern that I thought was perfect. And it was, except for one little thing: it was very large, and I have no idea if Fangirlism has room in her house for a doily that's half a yard in diameter. So I made a bag with a dolphin on it as well, because I subscribe to an everybody-can-always-use-more-bags philsophy. :-)
This is the doily! I posted a bunch more about it on my Ravelry project page. It's filet crochet, which is a technique where you work back and forth in rows making lots of little squares; some of the squares are filled in and others are left open to create a picture. I loved this pattern so much, both the making of it and the way it turned out!

And this is the bag! I posted about it on my other Dreamwidth. It's a drawstring bag with flat-felled seams and a boxed bottom.
