monksandbones: A detail of a medieval manuscript illustration featuring two singing monks, one in a red cowl and one in a pink one (even more inappropriate monk love)

Things you Geek About (interests, hobbies, fandoms): I geek about history (I have a PhD in medieval history), books, knitting, French and Latin, and apparently, these days, trees. I'm not really in any big media fandoms at the moment, but Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache mystery series, which I read this fall, has eaten my brain (Jean-Guy Beauvoir MY PERFECT PURE SON!!), and I'm also a fan of various other mystery series, most prominently among them Jean-François Parot's Nicolas Le Floch mysteries.

At various points I've been in the Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Lord of the Rings, and BBC Sherlock fandoms, and I'm open to receiving crafts based on any of them, plus I'm a fan of the Vancouver Canucks hockey team. That said, I'm also fine receiving non-fandom crafts. I've also just moved into an apartment of my own after a long year and a half of having to move back in with my parents during a career-and-country transition, so if a little more guidance about what I'd like helps, I'm definitely up for receiving decor-type items of pretty much any description for my new apartment! Wall art? Knick knacks? Flower pots? Whatever else? All very yay!

Any allergies/postal restrictions/simple DNWs: No allergies, but mail coming into Canada can be a bit slow so food isn't a great idea unless it's reliably non-perishable. I'm also not into jewelry or makeup or bath stuff (with the specific exception of fancy soap, which I love), and as much as I love fancy journals, at this point I need to use some up before I collect any more.

What country do you live in? Canada

Are you willing to ship internationally? For sure!

What kind of crafter are you?/What are you willing to gift? I'm a knitter, and that's almost certainly what I'll be gifting, although some sort of paper craft or needlepoint/embroidery isn't totally out of the question.

Are you willing to pinch hit if necessary? Yes

What about if shipping is paid for? Depending on my finances this could be helpful, although I hope I'd be in a position to pay for it myself.

If you participated in last round, who did you create for/who created for you?: I created for [personal profile] shaddyr and received crafts from [personal profile] shaddyr, [personal profile] tjs_whatnot, and [profile] redsnake5!
